Winter Watering
02.11.11
A quick note on watering, do not forget to water those plant you
installed this fall. Although, a plant’s water needs are lower now they still
need some care in order to succeed. Most established plants are fine with the
natural rainfall. However, if we enter a prolonged period with no rain you
should give your plant(s) a deep watering, trying to apply about ¼ - ½ inch of
water when irrigating. I have set an arbitrary period of 7-10 days because it is
easy to remember. Remember, the need for water will vary from plant to plant
and owners need to establish a watering regime that works for everyone.
